Ways to Give
Workplace Gifts
Workplace giving continues to be
the single largest area of support to the
annual United Way and the programs and
services supported through a United Way
gift. In 2010, 80 percent of the campaign was a
result of employees supporting their
employer's workplace campaign. Whether the donor chooses to use a payroll
giving option, a credit card option, or a
one-time gift option, employees through
workplace campaigns helped fund over 100
programs and services in Central Arkansas.
Corporate Gifts
Corporate giving is an important
part of the support base for the Heart of
Arkansas United Way. Companies making gifts
from their corporate profits account for 18
percent of the annual support to the Heart
of Arkansas United Way.
It all starts with the
corporate gift and access to the workplace.
Individual Gifts
All gifts are important to United
Way. The Central Arkansas community is lucky
to have individuals supporting United Way
independent of the workplace.
Often, individuals have
supported United Way through their active
years in the workforce. Upon retirement they
continue to support United Way through a
direct gift to the organization.
Other individuals
participate through the retiree organization
with a former employee. Often professionals
and independent business men and women
choose to support United Way through a
direct gift. These gifts combine to
represent 2 percent of the annual campaign.
As you can see from the
breakdown of the annual giving stream, all
gifts are important. As each
community-minded member of our society steps
up and participates at the level they feel
comfortable, we collectively make a
difference in our community's health and
quality of life. And, at the end of the day,
that's what matters.
