United in hope and resilience.
Heart of Arkansas United Way has been improving lives and strengthening our community since 1923. Nearly 100 years later, our commitment remains, as we strategically respond to the unique challenges of our time. We can build a community that is stronger than ever - where individuals and families can build their financial strength, where all children have the chance to grow into their full potential, and where there is a strong safety net that provides support when the unexpected threatens the lives and livelihoods of our neighbors.
Your gift to United Way helps one person put food on the table, and another find a safe place to live. Your gift helps a child recover from trauma and grow toward healing. United in hope for a strong future, and the resilience to fight for the community we love, we are moving forward toward a community where everyone can thrive.
How We Work
United Way believes that our community faces challenges that no one can solve alone. Our impact is based on the strength of our partnerships, both in our project work and in our grantmaking. Our Community Investment and Regional Investment Grants support organizations in the communities we serve who are having measurable impact in improving the Education, Financial Stability and Health of our neighbors. United Way grants are rigorously evaluated by local volunteers to ensure we're making the greatest difference. United Way is also able to leverage corporate, government, and foundation funds to build our community, from short-term safety net services to long-term change for families.
Projects like Supplies for Success, which provided more than 30,000 school supplies to students and teachers in our community for the 2021 school year, are also dependent on developing strong partnerships. With United Way's leadership, 20 local companies and community groups came together to make sure every student in our community was set up for a successful year.
